Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson, was born in Paris France of British parents Jacqueline Luesby Watson and Chris Watson both lawyers. At the age of five, she moved to Oxfordshire and enrolled in the Dragon School. When she was six years old, Emma realized she was going to become an actress and for many years she was a student at the Oxford branch of Stagecoach Theatre Arts a part-time theatre school where she studied the art of acting and dancing. When she was 10, Emma had taken part in numerous Stagecoach productions and plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the movie version of J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel began casting in 1999. Emma was initially discovered as a casting representative by her Oxford drama teacher. David Heyman, the producer of Harry Potter Harry Potter's Sorcerer's Stone, and Ron Weasley told Emma after eight auditions that she had been chosen for these roles. She was cast alongside Daniel Radcliffe Rupert Grint and Rupert Grint. The debut of Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's first cinematic screen appearance. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records during the opening day and first weekend. The film has been praised by critics for its film, as well as the performance by three principal young actors. The well-known British publication The Daily Telegraph called her performances admirable. Emma was awarded the Young Artist Award as the most outstanding young actor in the feature Film. The actress was awarded five times for her part in the film.
